Sofia Paloma Castro
ARCHITECTURAL INTERN
Sofia is a designer currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Design from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. A lifelong Nebraskan, she was first introduced to architecture through a local design camp at KANEKO, where her interest in art and community-driven design began to take shape.
Her academic experience has emphasized collaboration, shaping the way she communicates design ideas and works within a studio setting. She is particularly interested in adaptive reuse, sustainable design, and the role architecture plays in preserving culture and supporting local communities. Her recent projects explore how strong conceptual frameworks can guide thoughtful, site-specific solutions.
Sofia is currently expanding her creative practice through design and photography, and continues to seek out opportunities to learn, grow, and contribute meaningfully to the built environment around her.
